Keep Movin’ Monday-XRtainment Zone

header_new playmore2

I recently came across a cool place called XRtainment Zone, whose mission is to “provide families and kids of all ages a fitness club of their own “where working out is all play”. When exercise is fun, lasting healthy lifestyle habits can be established and obesity, cardiovascular disease and other lifestyle illnesses can be prevented or reduced. The Company uses new exertainment technology to make exercise fun, but also employs innovative wellness techniques to treat the multiple causes of lifestyle related diseases that currently plague modern families and society at large”.

XRtainment Zone is a new fitness, wellness center and gym using exergames, exergaming and exertainment that turns video and computer games into fun and entertaining exercise.  Kids, families, parents, seniors and kids of all ages can now exercise and have fun.  “Where working out is all play” is our fun and healthy motto.  Our Redlands, California facility serves San Bernardino, Loma Linda, Highland, Yucaipa, Colton, Grand Terrace, Mentone, Calimesa, Banning, Running Springs, Riverside, Moreno Valley and Beaumont.  Pediatric Weight Management, Kids and Family Weight Loss, Cooking Classes, Home School Classes, Group Party and Birthday Parties, Karate, Kids Jazz Dance, Children Hip Hop Dance, Personal Training, Health Assessments and Nutrition & Exercise Consults for the whole family are our specialties!  Have fun, exercise, get fit and PLAY MORE at XRtainment Zone – your whole family’s fitness and wellness center!

It’s amazing for me to see how these gaming systems are benefiting the world.  All my life I heard “TV/Video Games rot  the brain” but time has proven otherwise.  Not only do games like Personal Trainer-Math and Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir stimulate the mind, but games like the Wii Fit and the upcoming EA Sports Active (that I’ll be talking more about in the coming weeks) are helping to keep bodies fit and healthy.

You can watch a great news clip about the XRtainment Zone and you can read more about what them on their website and on their XRtainment Zone Updates Blog.  We don’t have anything like this available where I live in SC, but it’s neat to see this new revolution making it’s way across the country.

Speaking of staying active, be sure to join the Wii Fit Mommies this Saturday in the Forum for the #wiimoms Olympics!  You can compete against all the forum members Wii Fit games that we’ll announce Saturday morning.  Use your Flip Camera to Vlog your game and score (be sure to show something to include the date) and upload it to Newbaby.com (use keyword Wii Fit Mommies when you upload), leaving the link in the Olympic Entries section of the forum.

You can also enter by simply taking a picture and uploading that to the forum entry as well.  Remember, you can only enter each challenge one time but you can have fun in the Forum ‘smack talking’ in the ‘Talk It Up‘ Olympic section and we’ll also be found at hashtag #wiimoms all day on Twitter talking about how we’re doing.

I suggest you wait until the end of the day to submit your final scores in each contest.  We’ll take a look at all the entries to verify date, time entered and score and the winners will be announced the following day on the Cool Mom Guide to Fitness website and Forum! For a list of prizes, read THIS POST.  Looking forward to seeing you there!
