Last week, I wrote a post about joining in to help SUBWAY® Restaurants and the National Institute of Health to help spread the word about the We Can!â„¢ or “Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity & Nutrition”, a national program designed for families and communities to help children maintain a healthy weight. The program focuses on three important behaviors: improved food choices, increased physical activity and reduced screen time.
To help inspire readers to get their kids off the couch and outside having fun, we’re giving away a Subway P.E.P. Rally Kit (Play more, Eat right, Push away the screen) containing: sidewalk chalk, jump rope, Frisbee, flower seeds, bubbles, etc. and a $10 SUBWAY gift card!

While my kids spend at least an hour a day already outside, I think this is a great initiative. Thanks for getting the word out!

We get active many ways. A couple that stand out are the Wii Fit, jumping on the trampoline, riding bikes and doing yard work. I will admit that I try to avoid physical activity as much as possible, but I have not passed that onto my kids.

getting active with the kids…well it isnt too hard with zach…the first is the wii…he loves playing alongside of me. Secondly now that the weather is nice we have been going outside. We jump on the trampoline, or do other stuff outside. He wants to climb the trees…I gotta get brave and let him go!

When the weather is nice I always encourage my kids to play outside. We run around together, dance, or play catch with a ball. My oldest is a black belt in taekwondo. Participating in the martial arts helps her to stay active.
I am learnings ways to be active with my daughter. Our favorite thing to do is dancing crazy around the living room. Our Song is Sweet Caroline.. by Neil Diamond! We just go nuts….

I stay active by RUNNING after my toddler all day long (: (Really!)
My kids and I get active with our Wii Fit but also by going in our back yard once a night playing with our slide, towers, frisbees and our new ESPN Better Baseball Batter Trainer!!

I take the grandkids to the park a lot to run and play. They would stay for hours if they could. I’m so happy that they love playing outside. Thank you so much!
Well, I have to beg my kids NOT to be active, LOL! Lately, my favorite thing to do with them is to turn them loose with bubble wands…they love to run and watch the bubbles fly!
