Are We Allowed To Swear In Our Titles?
I really want to know the answer to that. Because sometimes I like to swear (okay, all the time – whatever) and I think of catchy titles and then I think that some people who subscribe to my feed might get a bit offended if I swear in the title. Then I think that if I don’t swear and the title is amusing enough to bring them over, they’re going to get slapped with a bunch of naughty words.
Does anyone else think saying naughty sounds dirty? I just said it (clearly) and it made me feel dirty. Maybe I should have said “bad words” but if I did that, I wouldn’t have been able to write this part so I’m just going to roll with it.
I know that prior to this past week I’ve always had a specific story to tell but for some reason, I’ve been a happy rambler. I don’t have much to talk about because my drive home from Syracuse was so horrendous, I would only depress everyone, especially since I came home to a dead fish.
I decided to put that picture in because I made myself sad by talking about my fish, Mulder “Bob” Maloney (R.I.P.) and my two year old rocking out to Guitar Hero in diapers and a hoodie makes me giggle.
My main objective lately is to get my ass back on the blog train and show some blog love. I got nailed by those three malware attacks and it not only killed my numbers, but it screwed my blog so I have the most wonderful woman on earth, Debbie Lawrence from We Speak Media and Bird On A Wire not only hosting my websites, but keeping them safe and wonderful. I love her. She’s most likely reading this so I love you, Debbie!!!
*pause for a sigh of appreciation*
My new goal is to write whatever the fuck comes from my brain and onto this blog and be proud of it. I’m going to show my bloggy love by returning all the comments you leave and I’m going to explore the bloggy world for more blogs to read and comment on. I think I’ll most likely hit up Keely’s site, The Un Mom, because she is the creator of the totally awesome stress relieving Random Tuesday Thoughts meme (I don’t know what meme means either but that’s what we all call them.) I throw out every week. Since we have the same sense of humor (we both swear and like zombies), I feel that the other RTT participants are just as cool as we are, so I’ll read their shit and meander about the bloggy world to see what it has to offer.
What sucks is that I travel a bit and when I do I get so busy I can barely keep up with writing and returning emails, henceforth fucking up the comment flow I established. I have no travel plans until August so I should be able to pump up the jam (<—now that song is in your head) and get back to my bloggy self. We seriously all need to say “henceforth” more. Trust me on this one, it’s cool.
This is my father’s Facebook pro tip: Adding ‘especially in this economy’ to any comment instantly makes it more blue-collar and “authentic.” Try it!
Okay, that’s my blast for today. I actually do have some kick ass stories to tell but I’m going to tell them next week. I’m too eager to get to the pool to remember what I wanted to tell you but I know I wrote a post this week saying there are stories to tell so I’ll refer back to them Monday and see what I can do for you, especially in this economy.

If saying bad words wasn’t dirty, then whats the point of saying them? It’s your personality, let it shine like the moon on a starry night in Colorado.

I for one think you should be allowed to swear in your titles, especially in this economy.

I only use the word “Naughty” when I’m talking about my kids. It’s one of those psycho-babble things, where I didn’t ever want them to hear me calling them “bad” but rather, I can call their behavior “naughty”. I think naughty sounds more like… innocent but misbehaving. So, adult naughtiness makes me think of a grown woman dressed in a schoolgirl’s outfit – that kind of thing. But, as for me, I’m too damn tired all the time to get “naughty” with my husband. He’s gonna have to be happy with just regularly occuring and normal sex. Okay, sorry, TMI. I mean, regularly occuring and normal sex, especially in this economy.
LOL!

I agree with Dr. B; and a good thing I do, especially in this economy.
“Adding ‘especially in this economy’ to any comment instantly makes it more blue-collar and ‘authentic.’” Love it! I also believe if you add a lower-case i in front of anything, it will seem very tech-y and sell like hotcakes. For example, right now, I’m working on the concept of the iHolly.
OK, not really….

I think you can and should swear in your titles, articles and comments. Swearing for the sake of swearing is low rent, but the well placed expletive has always been recognized as an important literary tool. And if some pansy-assed puritan gets a stick up their ass about it, tell them to go fuck themselves

I vote for saying whatever you want in YOUR blog – anywhere… we wouldn’t read it if we didn’t want to hear Julie-uncensored …so go for it

I think you should say what you want in your titles, it’s your blog to do with as you please, your human and if you come across as human, readers will like it more.
I don’t like excessive bad language, but every now and then isn’t too bad, i do swear myself, but if it’s witty and funny, then there will be other people who find it funny too.

I whole heatedly agree–especially in this economy, swear words should be used liberally.
And to be honest, I really enjoy your random thought posts. These are some of my faves.

There’s a video clip by Lewis Black about swear words that I thought of when I read your blog. Its a clip by Comedian Lewis Black on Bad Language.

I think people have and should have the right to use naughty language, how else can we express our frustrations and amusements with whatever is going on in the world.
Btw, I am adding your badge on my favorite links.

I like to swear too, but never swear in my titles cuz I’m not sure if I’ll get flagged by blogger or not.
