I’ll Never Be A Supermodel
…and I don’t want to be.
It’s funny how I’ve become a “role model” for people. Like not funny ha ha, funny weird.
I know I’ve said this before but I’m going to say it again- I DO NOT EAT HEALTHY.
Not even close to healthy. I’m never going to have one of those super skinny, super tight bodies. I’ve had two children and a hysterectomy. I eat what I want and try to stick to portion control, but I’m just like every one of you. I have times of weakness where I overeat and just can’t bring myself to work out. I am not a superhero. I am not a hard-core fitness freak. I’m just a woman who found something that worked for me that I wanted to share with you.
That being said, I am so friggin’ proud of myself. I managed to get from a size 16 to a size 8 (and sometimes 6) and have also somehow managed to help inspire hundreds of others do the same. Women (and some men) everywhere email, blog, Tweet and Facebook the Wii Mommies to tell us of their weight loss and how we have helped change their lives. We’re blessed to have the readership we do and are absolutely honored to be able to be a part of such an important part of your life.
My key message has always been you can eat what you want, as long as you do it in moderation and remember to work out. I encourage all modes of fitness, but I prefer using the fitness games for the Nintendo Wii. I’ve had people asking me lately about my eating habits, because they see me eat and let me tell you, it’s not healthy.
I love candy. I love fries. I don’t eat nearly enough veggies (or any lol). What I do is take into account what I’m eating and balance that out with a great workout. While I don’t have a washboard stomach and my thighs still have cellulite, I’m comfortable in my skin and proud of who I am.
To all of you who have started noticing a drop in weight but don’t think you look any different, you’re wrong. Want proof? Start taking a picture of yourself every week and watch what happens. You can turn it into a flip book and watch yourself get thin. You can’t expect to drop it all overnight and your body needs to adjust to the loss it’s seeing, all I can say is stay at it. After all, you’re just playing video games!
Don’t let this holiday season drag you down. This is going to be a tough time for all of us. We have to celebrate with family and that means food. Sometimes we indulge, and that’s okay. The message I’ve always been trying to get through is that we need to enjoy our lives. We can’t starve ourselves or start a diet that will make us miserable. We just need to control how much we eat. Eat half that burger and save the other half for 2-3 hours later. Your metabolism will speed up and you’ll actually drop some weight.
Please remember you’re only human. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are working towards your goals. Get your Wii Fitness game out, whatever it may be, and start playing. Start low if you have to. Bang out ten minutes instead of thirty. Trust me, it’s worth it.

I am so glad you said you do not eat healthy it’s important people know it can still be down it’s just a lot harder if you totally blow it.
It’s funny my post next week is similar to this one.

I think your ideas are really good and they definitely inspire me. Your eating habits sound just like mine, just about all junk food and no veggies. I just can’t bring myself to eat them. But hopefully with some portion control and sticking to it, I am hoping I can lose some of my weight as well. Now if I can get over the sore rear and legs from just restarting the EA Sport Active after a couple of months off it will be awesome.

Thanks for your inspiration! I am constantly battling with myself to eat better… I can sometimes be found eating candy while reading “Fitness” magazine… and so I’m glad to know that I’m not alone in the battle with food!
Of course, I’m also a terrible procrastinator when it comes to exercising, too… Thank goodness for Wii!

This was perfect timing for this post for me. I almost cried yesterday when I put on what used to be my nice jeans and looked like a hog stuffed in pantyhose. I hate it. And you do inspire me! Thanks for the post.

I can’t bring myself to write a full Fitness Friday post right now but I still want to be a part of everything! I’m a little over my head with blog giveaways right now though.
I just put up a giveaway for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince game for the Wii – believe it or not all that “dueling” was killing my arms! lol Who knew?
I’m like you, I eat what I want and then when I find it is getting to be too much, I up the exercise.
Great post!

Great post! We often think that if we aren’t perfect then why bother. But we can’t be perfect. But to balance everything out in our life and try to do the best we can at any given moment is the best we can ask for.
We all have to find what works best for us. Good for you for figuring out what works for YOU!!
