Superbowl Party Planning Tips and Giveaway!

Even though Carolina crushed my soul and managed to discredit years of game winning ‘No Pants Sunday’ rituals in one evening, I still love football. Since Carolina isn’t in the Superbowl, I can watch the game with my pants on and invite some friends over to watch it on our GIANT 106″ high def TV.

The key to a great Superbowl party is to have plenty of seating, great foods and good friends. Set your menu ahead of time and make sure to not overspend. Check your Sunday paper or online for coupons before you run to the store. This time of year, all the papers are loaded with Superbowl-type food coupons.

Stick with what you know. Get the chips and salsa and finger foods out along with beer (and lots of it!). Along with the cold foods, prepare some hot finger foods to pass around. You might want to try a recipe from my favorite Food Network star’s sons, the Deen Boys. They have a great Lime-Marinated Chicken Wings with Avocado Dip that’s actually pretty healthy, no mayo or stick of butter like their mama Paula likes to use!

You don’t want to be bringing out the good china here, football is a reactive sport and you don’t need some interception causing your grandmother’s plate to fly across the room. Get a giant stack of sturdy napkins and some disposable plates. I don’t suggest getting the cheap paper ones, football food can be wet and messy and you don’t want your guests plates ripping in half dumping sauce on your floor.

Be prepared to have your husband’s friend make some random sudden movement and get some sauce on his precious Steelers jersey. Have a Tide To Go instant stain removal pen on handy and you’ll be the hostess queen. Go to their website to get a $1 off coupon!

To give your game day party a boost, Tide is generously donating a Macy’s Martha Stewart Collection Recipe box filled with their favorite game day recipes (including the Deen Boys recipe!) and ten Tide To Go Mini Pens!

All you have to do to win is head on over to www.cbs.com/tide to show Tide your support by voting for the “Talking Stain” Tide to Go commercial in CBS’ “Best Super Bowl Commercials of All Time” and leave me a comment when you’re done.
