Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday Random Tuesday Thoughts

She talked me into it. It’s not like I’m hard to convince, I simply read Keely’s post at the Un Mom. She asked if I’m a random rebel and I decided I am. Well, she didn’t ask ME specifically, it was addressed to all of us, but I just happen to have some randomness in my head right now that wouldn’t take up a whole post so it works out great for me.

Okay. I’d like to start by saying Happy Veterans Day to all those who serve our nation, including my grandfathers and my step-father. My 3 year old called my mom and step-dad and left a message saying ‘Tanks for serving out country’. Seemed he enjoyed that because we got a return call about an hour later and he said that he enjoyed it.

Touching on something Keeley said about the Buffy comic, I read them all but I just can’t get into them. I think it’s having to deal with Xander and an eye patch. I miss the crap out of that show but the graphic novels never really did it for me. It’s nice to hear Willow’s pregnant with Wesley’s baby (in the real world, that is). I wish SMG-P would get on the ball, I’d love to see a little Buffy.

The fisher price jumperoo is my friend. I’m sitting on the floor watching my 7 month old bounce over and over and over. He’s not laughing, he’s not crying. He’s just bouncing. Every now and then he’ll look at the TV to see what the Imagination Movers are up to. My toddler is picking his nose. Ew. I put a stop to that. So nasty. I’m just grateful he doesn’t eat them.

I should really check to see if the Hamster is still alive. Her name is Hamstanya (partly because she’s a Hamster and Partly because she’s the demon Anya from Buffy reincarnated into my hamster). She is a vicious rodent but I love her.

My 7 year old dog, Tribute, who you saw as a pup in last week’s Wordless Wednesday, is barking to be let in, but I’m comfy on the floor watching Josh jump so he’ll have to wait. He was named after the Tenacious D song of the same name. He’s not the greatest dog in the world, he’s a Tribute.

Tribute’s full name is Tribute Bartholomew Maloney. I decided to give him a really embarrassing middle name so that he’ll behave for fear I’ll say it out loud.

While I’m naming animals, I may as well toss the kitten in. Found him meandering about months back and we kind of love the little turd. His name is Apollo Starbuck Adamas Maloney, in honor of my favorite characters from BSG (Battlestar Galactica). I have to say this for the cat, he is incredibly tolerant for a kitten. My baby drags himself after him constantly and pulls whatever he can and the cat doesn’t flinch. Every play date we find toddlers torturing him and he has yet to scratch any of them.

Well, turns out I have plenty of random to say. I’m actually having to stop myself now, but I think I’ll pick this up next Tuesday. Jake just put a kick board on my back as I lay on the floor typing and he’s pretending I’m a surf board. Now he’s in time out for intentionally farting on me. Josh is still jumping.

Do me a few favors-head over to my review site and tell me what you think of my holiday guide. I’ve never made one so I really have a lot of anxiety about it. Also, check out Keely’s random post, write one of your own and leave your link to both of us in a comment so we can check it out. I’ll see about making a Mr. Linky for next weeks edition.

    “Random Tuesdays”, “Wordless Wednesdays”….hmmmm. I’m detecting a bit of a pattern here….

  • Keely says:

Wow, two Buffy references AND a BSG reference. I think you out-nerded last week’s nerd post!

I love your dog’s middle name. That is clearly where I went wrong – I can’t shame my dog into behaving EVER.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. Glad you liked the link.

We have a long-suffering cat who put up with first the Corgi puppy then the Goldendoodle puppy chewing on it’s head. I never said the cat was smart!

We had a bouncy thing for our youngest boy (what about 8 hundred years ago). He loved it.

  • Random, but great post nonetheless :) Cute dog name! And I snorted at your hamsters name. Little devils, aren’t they? I own one too :)

Hey, Keely – Julie comes by it naturally…Her stepmama and I have seen (and own DVDs of) all the Buffys, Angels, Fireflys, and Serenity (the movie), collect Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8, Angel After The Fall, Spike After The Fall, and Serenity comic books…all written by Joss Whedon. Julie’s daddy collected comics since he was a kid and could have retired a millionaire if she and her siblings hadn’t found and ruined most of them in the attic….
But we love her, and hope she’ll catch up quickly on the Doctor Who and Torchwood DVDs we loaned her, because the new season of Doctor Who started last Saturday on BBC America.

I’m loving all the Buffy & BSG talk out here. I think my favorite memory about the jumperoo was when Josh was jumping, then things went silent, and then he was just there sleeping standing up. Quite the site. Oh, and I like the Random Tuesday thing. My attention span like most of the country’s matches this type of post perfectly.

  • Oh, your pets are too cute! Makes me want to go out and buy a dog for my daughter right now! LOL
