Random Tuesday Thoughts-They Say It’s My Birthday

randomtuesday

I’m watching my one year old whip my cat around the room and I know in theory I should stop him, but this cat can’t (and for some reason never even tries) to hurt him and it’s like great payback for every time he stole food, meowed at night and woke the whole house up and chewed on the laptop cord.  The last part could have been the baby, too, who knows.

Thank you, daddy, for this lovely birthday card.  That’s right, people! BA da na da na da na.  They say it’s my birthday!  I’m singing a song about it!  I don’t care that I’m 32!  I’m really 29 for the fourth time, you know.

I have a tendency to tell people I’m the age I’m becoming well before it hits.  When I was ACTUALLY 29 turning 30, I told everyone I was 30 the entire month leading up to it (I technically celebrate from April 1st to mid May because my friends all have birthday’s during this time and we all celebrate each others each time) but something happened the actual day I turned 30.  I choked.  I cried.  I passed on the key chain.

I wish I had a picture of the key chain.  Every woman who turns 29 gets this keychain that says “29 and Holding”.  I remember the day my Aunt got it and she’s in her 50′s now.  I had it sent to me on my 29th birthday and I FedEx’d it to my cousin just a year later on her’s.  That’s why I joke and say 29 for the fourth time, it’s just something I was born into.

My son likes to lick glass.

So there I was, 29 years old, prancing around (yes, I prance) telling everyone I’m 30 when I was 29 then this day rolled around-April 14th (I seriously LOVE my birthday, it’s almost sick)-and I did what I SWORE I’d never do.  I started saying “How old do I look?”

That is so not me.  Screw how old I look, I’m proud of how old I am.  I like to go to the bar a mile down the road on Saturday nights because I crave attention sing karaoke with my mom friends and now that I’m older and wiser, I just tell it like it is.  If I’m asked how old I am, I still have a tendency to round up, which is weird, but I LOVE getting the “No Way!” reaction people give.

Ryan just sent me a text, it’s going in here-I inadvertently left you a horrible birthday present in the downstairs bathroom.  Thanks, babe.  That’s your payback.

Only a little random today, I’m too excited about my birthday.  I’m headed to Myrtle Beach to stay in one of my BFF’s beach houses (thanks for that Abs!) with the kids and I have to pack.   For some real randomness, go to our random mentor, Keely from The Un Mom started it and all my bloggy BFF’s take part and they write some hilarious and random stuff.

Thank you all 1000 times for your birthday wishes, I’ll be offline driving 5 hours to a beach with 2 friends and 6 kids but thinking of all the love you’re sending!

It's Julie's Birthday!
