Not Bad For Our First Try

Well I tried to embed the first show right here but I can’t get the script right so you can just look in my sidebar if you’d like and click on “So Hot Your Face Will Melt” to hear the first ever Momspective Blog Talk Radio Show that I’ve hosted with Courtney and T.R.Y.(You can also click the highlighted link to be taken to the show page to listen).

It wasn’t bad for our first time.  My biggest problem was that I heard an echo so when people called or I played the sound effects we recorded I was convinced everyone heard it too and I talked about it for about twenty minutes before I understood what was going on.  I was just told how to fix it so hopefully it’ll be okay before the next show because it frustrated the hell out of me.  We had a good time though, I know I’ve said it a thousand times this week but I created a Facebook page where we’re going to post pictures and video from each weeks show to make it more personalized so please like it so I don’t feel like a tool.  I think I did a good job with it.

We had my kids over to help with some audio clips.  You’ll hear the little one sing “Fish Heads” (an old song I used to hear on the Dr. Demento show although I got it confused with Frank Zappa while we were broadcasting) and he also sang his ABC’s.  Jake had a good time with some “That’s what she said” sound clips and other things. I’ll probably have them come back over to record some more witty things if I can think of some, they loved it.

After the kids went back to Ryan’s and the show began so did the drinking.  Every time one of us says something related to a “That’s what she said” we had to take a shot.  We eventually upgraded to glasses.

Which of course leads to me and T.R.Y. (it’s his nickname based off his initials if you haven’t figured that one out) getting into debates.  He likes to call it banter.  I believe this was the part I called him an asshole while he said my being a bitch makes it banter – it’s all recorded on the show so he can’t deny it.

Courtney and I each took turns smiling pretty as we prepared to record our show’s song intro.  That’s hilarious.  We have to adjust it for next weeks show because it was a little fuzzy but we expect the first few to be a work in progress.  We set the theme to “Three’s Company” and I swear if we didn’t have T.R.Y. there to keep us in check the entire show would be us giggling for an hour.

I think that about wraps it up.  You can see all those pictures and some videos will be up shortly after we edit them (I think we recorded for about two hours, they need to be clipped WAY down) and they’ll be put on our page.  Next week will air on Tuesday August 2, 2011 at 9PM EST and we’ll talk about our Nintendo DS Lite giveaway and we’re going to talk about our top five “Which celebrities we really wanna fuck” list and welcome your lists on our wall, on the radio show wall or feel free to join us live in the chat room (you need to be registered and get a profile in order to chat in the room) or by calling us at 646-595-4835 the night of the show.

Looking forward to next week!  Enjoy!

I was bummed that I missed your show. We had youth group, and didn’t make it home in time. I’ll be checking out the recording though.

I missed being able to hear this show live! Tuesday was son’s surgery day, and I was dead tired by 8 pm! Maybe this next Tuesday night, I can tune in live!!! I’ve subscribed to the shows on iTunes, and need to post a comment on iTunes for ya!
Let me guess… at least two of your choices for the top five will be Norm Macdonald and David Tennant!

I’m pissed at Norm for never replying so I’m booting him off my list. David’s on there for sure. I’ve never checked iTunes, that’s awesome! I’ll have to go figure that out!
