Fitness Friday – I’m Being Put To The Test. The GSSI Test.

The Wii Mommies

So for the past few weeks, you may have noticed how I’ve been training to increase endurance.  I tried running outside and found my body got a better physical workout using a combination of the Wii Fit and EA SPORTS Active to get what I wanted.

I had started heavily monitoring my eating to ensure I made my holiday as miserable as possible and also made it a point to hydrate myself with Gatorade’s G2.

I have a couple things to tell you and also want to take a second to thank you.

The first being that I am FAR too vain to allow a tiny little illness and hysterectomy take over this body and slap twenty pounds on me.  The second is because I’m headed down to South Beach next week for a really cool experience.

You might have heard of (or at least seen the commercials) of athletes testing at the Gatorade science labs?  In the commercials, they have the oxygen masks on and they’re working out and people are telling me they sweat Gatorade? I think those are the ones they’re talking about but I know I’ve seen the specific athletic Gatorade commercial testing commercials, because I searched like crazy until I could before I freaked out.

Well, they’re bringing in a mobile Lab to the Super Bowl Media Center to showcase Gatorade scientists conducting performance tests on athletes, including Eli Manning, Tony Gonzalez, Maurice Jones-Drew and ME!  This is truly an amazing opportunity that only a brand like Gatorade could provide. I love football and if you have ever seen a game, you see Gatorade is all they drink and even see the Gatorade logo on the towels they use (I got a bottle and towel at Blogher, YAY!).

The tests will show exactly how my body functions during activity.  During the testing, we’ll be using the new G Series, which is a group of products for before, during and after workouts.  It’s an exclusive opportunity to try the G Series, which won’t be released until spring.  And guess what, you can watch my test and ask questions on GStream at uStream.tv/gstream.

My test is Tuesday morning beginning at 8:00AM ET. The entire schedule will be posted on the GStream channel and The Wii Mommies will be talking about it live at 1PM EST on our Radio Show today so listen in and either call in questions or join us in our chat to ask what you need to k now about my training and more about this SUPER Event!

Trust me when I tell you this is something you want to see.  Here’s a screen shot of an athlete training, that I pulled from the GSSI website.

Yeah….see the athlete covered in gear?  That’s going to me, from what I understand, so you’ll want to make sure you tune in to watch this live, ask questions, and have material on me to make fun of me for eternity if I look silly.  Also, your support in joining this GStream (Tuesday morning at 8EST *ahem*) would really just mean a LOT to me.  It’s been your support that has gotten me this far.

How far, you ask?  I went to the doctor to find I’m only 130 pounds.  I haven’t been that low in years.  Years before I wrote about losing weight.  This is my lowest.  Between my 6 week EA SPORTS Challenge and then being invited to Miami way back when, I was determined to get into perfect shape.  One, because as  I already said and will and again, I’m vain.  Secondly, there is NO WAY you’re putting me up besides Eli Manning and I’m not going to have the strength or endurance to keep up.

I only hope they plan on some of us chosen (I’m going to be lovin’ up on my girl Amy because we’re doing this together!) not looking “as good”.

So yeah, 130.  You know what I did?  I bought a burger.  I inhaled a regular coke and large fry fir the first time in almost two months.  I’d eaten nothing but health food.  No bad carbs, no chocolate at all, nothing and when I hit that weight, I ate that burger AND IT WAS GOOD.

I’ve been going great with my workouts until this past week.  Same goes for eating.  Although the good news is that it turned out all the heavy depression I’ve been going through since May was due to a medical interaction, so now I’m “normal” again (who’d want THAT, really), I did have to hold my closest friend in my arms as he had a Grand Mal (?) seizure and nothing on this earth has even been so hard.

He returns to his home in NY tomorrow and my heart is breaking because we’ve always watched out for each other but now that this happened, I won’t take my eyes off of him.  I’m fairly sure he’s sick of it already, his bags are packed and by the door. He’s also recovering very, very well and is well on his way to becoming as annoying as usual. ;)

Finally, the thanking.  THANK YOU.

Okay, that’s it.  Article’s over.

Ha.  No.  Really.  Every one of you needs to be thanked.  You were all there for me when I got sick and had my operation.  There for the illness after it and I don’t know why, but you have all remained positive and present during one of the hardest times of my life.  Through the ups and downs of Bipolar disorder and various medications that sometimes made it difficult for me to speak or react, I’d still write a post a day and you’d read it.

The only time in my life I  “took a vacation” was during Christmas break when I had my nightmare 27 hour ride and lost a friend to suicide.  I believe if I was as strong as I finally am, I’d have handled that better and still have been able to do my job but I couldn’t.  I had a mental break and I needed to go away.  I haven’t commented in a month and it fills me with catholic guilt but you all still come back.

I want you to know I appreciate it.  All of it.   My mind is clear, finally, and it was because of a medical interaction so it just *poof* went away but I’m so BUSY (as you can see by all my posts about LA, IBCINB and now this) that I can barely read an email let alone my favorite blogs but believe me, you are all about to become my priority. You have been there with me every step of the way, some since I started writing, and I will absolutely be here for you.  I love you.
