That’s Why They Call It Gambling!
I had a rollercoaster weekend! Lost a bunch on SU, won it back with Alabama and Illinois . Yesterday, my picks were the over on the Denver game, and Tampa -1. Then I heard that Carson Palmer was inactive, so I bet the Browns, but teased it with the Cards. Ugh… Yet still, the Cards had a chance to cover the tease and Warner fumbled AGAIN!!!!!!!
So, 4 o’clocks. I played a $10 parley bills -8, Chargers -8.5, Skins +10 and bears +3. Chargers scored that meaningless (to everyone but me and other degenerates) touchdown to make it a 10 point game.
And, the Bears win and cover, $100!!!!!!!! I ended up even for the weekend after being down $166 at the start of yesterday.
Phew~!
PS, don’t tell my wife
And, today Scott Linehan gets fired because you can’t fire the players.
In Other (BABY) News
My baby is starting to walk. He kinda wobbles around, and I think he thinks it is so funny that then he falls down. He was with me on the rollercoaster yesterday, we did 2 touchdown dances and a 2 point conversion dance. He thought I was crazy. Good thing he didn’t know me when I was a drinker…
POLITICS
The debate was something. Did anyone catch McCain saying horseshit twice? YouTube it, pretty funny. A lot is being made of McCain not once looking at Obama during the debate. Is there a lot there? I don’t know. Maybe, given his temper, he thought it was the best way not to make it personal? I know that when in an exchange, heated or not, that is a disagreement or a debate, my face turns bright red. I will give Cain the benefit of the doubt on that one, but I don’t think it will help.
Looking for entertainment? Watch the VP debates this week. Biden will SMOKE Palin. Did you see Katie Couric chop her up? Without trying to be really abrasive, Couric solicited this gem of an answer:
“Couric: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? Allow them to spend more, and put more money into the economy, instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
Palin: That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade — we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.”
Oh my goodness. Case closed, game over. I would more quickly vote for Miss South Carolina than any ticket that includes Palin.
Have a great day everyone, and hopefully a great week. And, work some OT, you have to pay a million dollar bonus to some fat cat on Wall Street.

McCain could run down the street screaming, wearing a chicken outfit, and there would be die hard supporters saying he was saving us all from the sky falling….
Dr B I think you are dead on it. From speaking with my grandparents (pretty bright folks), it is like McCain is the last vestige of an era where you trusted the government. If the government said: “Ladies, while your husbands are away fighting for freedom, you had better get a job, and we will be around to collect little slivers of soap!”
Different time, but that older generation still needs to believe that our government is acting in our best interests and with our salvation and progress as their number one goal.
