Once again I am blown away by the support you all have shown me this past weekend. Talk about an ego boost. I wanted to talk about football today because I’m super pissed about this past weekend but my kids came crashing into the house yesterday waiving pamphlets screaming “IT’S TIME FOR THE FUN RUN! WHERE IS THE MONEY?!?!”
They don’t seem to quite grasp the concept.
I’m going to be honest with you, I can’t stand having to solicit pledges for school functions. We can’t go door to door in my neighborhood because there isn’t a house in it that doesn’t have a kid in elementary school doing the same thing I am. I remember the days I used to haul around the “Worlds Best Chocolate” to get money for school. If my kids were doing that it would be a different story, I’d totally buy it all. This time, they’re running.
The Boosterthon Fun Run is a 9-day, values-based fundraising program that teaches students about Fitness, Leadership, and Character. This year’s Boosterthon character campaign is Camp High Five, a summer camp theme all about friendship. Students will learn to treat everyone like a friend. Friends . . . Respect Others, Don’t Bully, Shout Out Strengths, Stick Together, and Show Sportsmanship.
Students learn these Camp Challenges while gathering pledges to help their school. The Boosterthon Fun Run program ends with an exciting Fun Run event where students run laps around the Boosterthon Speedway. All students participate in this action-packed experience and run with their classmates. Most students will run 30-35 laps at the Boosterthon Fun Run, with a lap max of 35 laps.

This is the first year my five year old will be doing it and the fourth time my eight year old will. What they will do is run laps around the Boosterthon Speedway next week. They will be running between 30 – 35 laps… 35 is the most they can run.
Mu husband is convinced my five year old will run in the wrong direction.
I of course will be posting this on Twitter and Facebook likely every day for the next week because I’m a good mom and I will annoy people if it means it will help my children but the run itself will happen Wednesday, September 18th. I’m not even sure I can go, I get my blood transfusion the day before and I’m usually really sick for a day or two. My husband is going to have to take the afternoon off that day to take care of the kids while I’m in bed and then I just asked him to take Wednesday morning off so he can go support the kids. Josh runs at 8AM, I’m not sure what time Jake is going yet. If it’s closer to noon I shouldn’t have a problem making it.
This is where I ask you to reach into your pockets to give me a hand. Actually two hands because I have to ask on behalf of two children. You can pledge 1 dollar, 2 dollars, 5 dollars per lap or you can just donate without having to pledge per lap. I will blog and social media it next week to tell you how many laps they ran. Sponsors will get a payment email once the fun run has completed. Please make sure to check your spam and junk folders. Here is the link for each boy -
