Fitness Friday-Forum Tips

fitness-friday-button-new

With over 700 people in the Wii Mommies Forum and dozens more registering daily, I thought I’d take the time to welcome all the newcomers and give some handy forum tips that might help you all out.

To start, you can always poke around in the FAQ section of our lovely forum.  In it, you’ll get all the technical information you’d like about things like creating threads, flagging offending posts and profile customization.

If you’re already familiar with how to use a forum but want to know where to start when you join the Wii Mommies, I’ll go over some of my favorite sections and what my forum routine has become over the months since we’ve launched.

If you’re just starting out, head on over to the “Make New Friends” section and introduce yourself.  You can poke around to see if there’s anyone else in there who might be right in the same town!  Who knows, you might find yourself a workout buddy to connect with online or by phone to help motivate each other!

Once you’ve introduced yourself, there are a few things you can do.  You can promote your blog or leave some of your social media links like Twitter and Facebook in our “General” forum area.  Maybe you’ll recognize some of your bloggy friends to connect with our discover new people to follow!

If you’re having a hard time with motivation, talk about it in our group “Therapy Session“.  We all have so much going on in our lives, and often forget that someone else might be able to relate and advise on a situation that might be leading you into the fridge instead of the Wii Fit.  Talk about your problems in an open and comfortable setting where your friends will show their love and support!

Once you’re ready to get fit, pick your favorite and talk!  Right now, all the hype is in the EA SPORTS Active section of the forum since we’ve all just kicked off the national EA SPORTS Active 30 day challenge!  People are blogging and tweeting about the butt kicking the fitness product is bringing them and there is some great action in the forum.

I haven’t been in the Wii Fit section much, because I was one of the first to take part in the EA SPORTS Active challenge and I wanted to give it a fair review, so I only hopped on my Wii Fit to weigh myself.  With the second challenge, I’m integrating both the Wii Fit and EA SPORTS Active to make one stellar workout!

If you use another fitness product for the Wii and it’s not listed in the Wii Games section, let us know and we can start a section for the product.  We talk about them as we see them, so we welcome your input!

Dieting?  You can share recipes or give weight loss tips in our Virtual Fitness and Dieting section.  We have something for everyone in there!  Weight Watchers, Atkins, general dieting and healthy eating!  We even created a special area just for all our member recipes, so if you have something tasty for us to try, let us know there!

Those are just a few of my favorite sections.  I’ll tell you what I do every day.  I log in and immediately go to the section in the header that says “Today’s Posts” and see what our friends most recently posted.  I hover over the post that catches my eye (they ALL catch my eye, but I have a system lol) and I hold the cntl (control) button when I click on it and it’ll open it in a new window, so I don’t have to keep clicking on Today’s Posts every time I answer in a forum.

Don’t forget, the first 10 people who get to 100 *valid* posts will have their blog feed entered in to give members a look into your bloggy life and hopefully more traffic to your site!  We welcome everyone and if you have any questions, just email Contact@Wiimommies.com and we’ll be happy to help! Looking forward to connecting with you there!
