Because I’ve Been A Total Dick, Melanie Fields Wrote This -

Football can turn me into a loud, foul-mouthed, totally crazed blond lunatic. Pretty much the only other thing that can do this is tequila. Football gets my blood pumping and everything in me gets excited. It’s like the sports version of sex. Touchdowns and interceptions can be orgasmic!!! Or is that just me?

I’m a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan! Have been all my life. If you were to ever watch a game with me, you’d be in for a treat. I yell…I throw things…I invent new words. I would love to blame my husband for every bad thing our children say, but who the crap am I kidding? They probably heard mommy swearing at the refs for screwing up a call…”HOLDING!! How the hell did they not call that? Are they fucking blind???” By the end of the game, my hair is usually a mess from almost pulling it out and my voice is completely gone from screaming.

My hubby is just as bad as I am. We dress our children in Packers gear every game day. If they ask to wear something else, they are denied. I wear the same shirt for every game…unless they lose. Then I change for the following week. The exception to this is if I happen to get a super cute new Packers shirt and I want to wear it. I’ll take the blame if they lose…at least I’ll look good doing it!

We named our youngest son after Brett Favre. This was when Favre was still with the Packers. I have a love/hate relationship with Favre. I’m sure I’ll grow to love him again once he stays retired, but right now I still think he’s a douchebag for going to the Vikings. We’ve talked about changing our son’s middle name…my hubby’s vote is for Clay or Nitschke…my vote is for Aaron.

I am in love with Aaron Rodgers. I have been known to physically knock my child over in my rush to get to the television to see him. My friend loves him too. Whenever we discuss this…at great length and in great detail…my husband just rolls his eyes. But back to the subject of football…… -

I told Julie I would write about our fantasy football league, so here it is:

First of all, I LOVE fantasy football! Keeping track of all my players makes watching the games more fun!! This is my first year playing in a points only league. I prefer head-to-head (there’s that football-sex connection again)…but I’m doing better in this league than in my head-to-head league, so who knows? I’m currently in third place. I have no idea who the guy in first place is, but he continues to piss me off!! Mostly because I can’t freaking catch up to him!! Michael Vick? Really?? How could anyone possibly know he’d have the type of season he’s having? He’s also got Pittsburgh’s crazy tough defense.

I’ve learned that a good defense can make or break your fantasy team. I managed to snag Green Bay’s defense by ranking them pretty high (this is why it’s important to rank your players before the draft!!!) In addition to being my eye candy, Aaron Rodgers has served as a kick-ass quarterback for me this year…at least until last week! Hopefully, Rodgers will bounce back after the concussion he suffered against the Lions…playing on turf…in a dome…don’t even get me started on this subject!!!

Just one more thing about my Packers…I promise. The playoffs are nearing, and the Pack is still in the hunt!! “Bear Down Chicago Bears”?? I don’t think so!! Rodgers is HOT, and Clay Matthews will take out anyone who gets in our way! We take on New England this week, but you better watch your back Chicago….we’re comin’ for ya!!! GO PACK GO!!!
