DAY TWELVE QUESTION

I’m Thankful this Year because….

Okay, brace yourselves folks.  I am thankful for A LOT this year.  It’s been a HUGE year for me so it’s gonna be a long list. I’ve already gone over this three times to trim it down a bit, so bear with me here.

First and foremost, I’m thankful to my friend Rob for encouraging me to start this in the first place.  He saw something in me I didn’t think I had, and there is no limit to the love and gratitude I have for him.  To modern technology for providing me with the Internet and cell phones to expand my social base.  I’m also thankful to Nintendo for making the Wii Fit because without it I’d still be fat.

Thank you,  Ryan, for letting me sleep in every weekend and encouraging me to go out with my friends at night and for being the absolute best man and husband a gal could ask for.  You’re so awesome, even I’m jealous of me for having you.

I love my children and I thank god I have them but right now Jake is being a huge pain in the ass and Josh is whining so I’m thankful Ryan has today off.  I’m thankful for Stove Top Stuffing, for totally rocking my socks off on this fine day and tasting so good paired with mashed potatoes, corn and gravy.  I’m thankful to my friend Jennifer for giving me her size 8 jeans 3 years ago and I’m thankful I actually fit into them now.

To Abby, Michele, Sarah (my frugal co-ruler) and Jody for being the best friends a girl could have and never talking about me behind my back.  To Jamie for helping me out with this and sticking with me for over a decade.

To my Dad for commenting on every post, reading every HJ article and having great taste in TV.  For my Mom for teaching me how to cook and how to save at the grocery store.  For not only being my mother but for being my best friend.

I’m thankful to Noel for watching the dog this year while we’re in NY.  Without you, he’d eat my blinds (again).  I’m thankful to Liz, my Yoda, for teaching me the ins and outs of blogging. To the girls at The Classy Closet radio show, thanks for making me feel important. I’m now a devoted stalker-er-I mean listener.

To my Bloggy Friends.  There’s a lot of you so let’s pause for mad linky love-  Cynthia, Monica, Ali, Teresa, Lauren, Keely, Petra (you vixen), Tena, Mel, Erin, Debra, Felicia, Louise, Ethan and  Alisa.  I know I didn’t mention every friend I have made, so I dedicated a page called “they’re cool” to display all my friends buttons.  The folks mentioned here have been with me from the start.  They’ve given me support, encouragement, comments, emails and lots and lots of love.

I’d like to thank Mom Dot for hosting this blog party.  Without it, I don’t think I’d have realized how good I have it.  In just a short period of time, I’ve made an amazing group of friends.  Friends I’ve never actually seen, which blows my mind because I have absolute trust and faith that you’ll be with me til the end.

I’m super duper sick today and haven’t been able to say a single word above a whisper, so I’m still not sure if I can even make dinner with the neighbors tonight.  I’m thinking about maybe taking a shot of whiskey to burn away the pain because I don’t want to be alone on my favorite holiday.  I made sure I didn’t cook anything that I’m contributing to the pot luck, so as long as I don’t go around licking any faces (it’s been done), I shouldn’t get them sick.

Thanks again to all who’ve read and commented on my posts.  I return each comment gratefully and will continue to do so as the years pass.  I look forward to Blogher ’09 and hopefully meeting everyone there.  It’s going to be a wild and crazy time that I hope I remember forever (or the next day).

This plague is going around….both of my kids have it. Look at it this way….your neighbors are probably going to get it eventually, so you could still lick faces and you would be doing them a favor. I haven’t gotten it yet but am willing to still take a quick shot of whiskey!!! If you had to stay home…. we were with you in spirit!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

OK – I wanted to ask this before, and since you wrote this in today’s blog I REALLY have to ask. Are you the same Julie that was written up in a blurb in Parenting about losing weight from the Wii? If you aren’t, you sure look alike. If you are – that’s so cool! I know a celeb. I’d love for you to leave a comment on any of my posts and let me know if this is really you.
