If You Smelt It, You Delt It

I have NO idea where that title idea came from.

Check out this picture of me and my friend Elaina.  We went out the other night and I apparently look kick ass in yellow and she wore a “How Many Licks Does It Take” vintage Tootsie Roll tee.  I also got this kick-ass lip gloss from my mother that makes me look tan.

Julie Maloney Momspective

Holy crap.  Adorable, right?

So my radio show is on tonight.  It’s at 9PM EST and you can find it HERE and do me a favor.  Register on the website so you can be in my chat room.  I can’t have any fun without the chat room banter.  It makes me feel like a hoser.  People are saying they’re trying but the website hosting the show won’t allow it so I have been instructed to tell all of you to email support@blogtalkradio.com and they’ll help you out.  I really want to get this drinking game established and I just can’t do it without everyone in there.

A drinking game?  Yep.  Suggested by a Facebook friend, Andrew, we’ve decided to try out the “Momspective drinking game”.  Doesn’t have to be alcohol, you can drink to your beverage of choice.  Mine is alcohol and I’m backing off of beer because I feel like it’s hitting my belly area so I’m going to have to switch to vodka.  Thank goodness the show now starts at nine and is only 45 minutes long because depending on the rules we set, this gal might get hammered. So Let’s Talk About the Expo Itself

E3 Expo Rock Band 3

So I walk into the actual Expo that started at noon and was moderately overwhelmed.  I’m not a big fan of being in a large crowd all alone so I didn’t know where to go.  They had magazines with maps (NEEDED) and I walked into the west hall (it might have been east, I don’t have the map in front of me.  It’s sitting next to the shitter it has good articles in it).

As soon as I walked in (it was a clusterfuck of people waiting to get in those doors, so I was basically carried in), I looked up to see Nintendo on one side and Sony on the other.  Since I just went to the Nintendo press conference and I’m pissed at Sony, I followed my map to the South Hall where all kinds of shit was going on.  THAT was a good time.

For those of you who go to  conventions like BlogHer or the Type A Mom (I’m going to Type A for sure and haven’t decided about BlogHer.  I might pop over to NYC to stay at a friends and come party with you but I think I already made plans that week), the set up is similar.  There are major brands demoing the games that are going to be released by Christmas. My E3 Adventure

Julie Maloney Cool Mom Guide LLC (Momspective) went to E3

Yep.  That’s my badge.  The name of my corporation is Cool Mom Guide LLC, in honor of my original blog name and from that I DBA as Momspective and The Wii Mommies.  THAT makes me cool enough to get invited to E3.

So I went.

The past week has been filled with so much shit, I have about a month of material locked in the vault bagging to be released, but I’m going to start with my E3 experience.  I’m not going to get too much into the games themselves at this point, although I will be talking about them on The Wii Mommies website.  I’m giving you a general overview of what that Expo was like for me.

The stories of my flights there and back are completely different blog posts.  Some of the people I met and things I thought about and did will be talked about later on in the upcoming weeks because for some unknown reason, E3 changed my life.

Not the Expo itself, that was just bad-ass.  The entire 36 hour trip I took to LA and back changed me somehow.  Again, those posts are for another time.  I’m just going to walk you through what it’s like to be a regular gal at a MAJOR event. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)

Wii Love it!

Okay, so I’ve always heard how kids get the hang of new things faster than adults, but at THREE?!

I was the anti-everything girl. Anti-sports, anti-video games. Then I had kids. Since we found out I was having a boy with my first pregnancy, my husband was talking about video games as bonding. He was asking for gameboys for Christmas when Jake was 6 months old. I’d laugh and roll my eyes, but those games were NOT coming in my house. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)
