Fitness Friday – Me V. Dog Week One Update

fitness-friday-button-new

When I first decided to challenge my dog to this six week challenge using Personal Trainer: Walking for the Nintendo DS, I really didn’t know what to expect.

If you listened to the “Guess Who’s Back” Wii Mommies radio show last week, you heard me talk about my reasoning behind this challenge.  As the first week comes to a close, I’ve learned quite a bit about both myself and my dog, Tribute.

Every day, at random times throughout the day, I measure how many steps each of us has taken while wearing our Personal Trainer: Walking activity meters.  I’ll tweet it (@Momspective) and I’ve added the hashtag #MeVDog so everyone can see how the race to good health is going. Fitness Friday: Me Vs The Dog

That’s it.  I’m DONE.  I am a WII MOMMY!  I will get up off my hiney and look hot at Blogher!

I know, I know.  I just had a complete hysterectomy and triple pneumonia, you say.  To that I say PA-SHAW.

I’m kidding.  I don’t.  What happened to me was horrifying and I hope to never be that sick again.  In just the past few weeks, I had a cyst rupture that caused me immense pain that seemingly kicked my endometriosis into high-gear and subsequently landed me the hysterectomy.  Poor hospital care slapped some pneumonia on me and now my life has taken a whole new turn.  It all happened very fast and it was totally unexpected.

That said, I obviously haven’t been working out.  I wasn’t even getting off my couch. My legs are shaky when I get up and I just feel OLD.  Something has to be done. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)
