Gatorade GSSI Testing – Putting the Rookie’s to the Test
I’m so super. Last year Gatorade invited me to Miami to check out their mobile GSSI (Gatorade Sports Science Institute) testing lab so I could get a taste of how valuable Gatorade really is in the science of peak athletic performance. I was put in the “Bod Pod” (seen behind those very, very attractive men in the picture above) and I was also hooked up to the breathing tubes and rode the bike and found out quite a bit about my own physical condition (I’m thin but shouldn’t really eat the burgers. Maybe a salad or two would be a good idea).
This year I was thrilled to be invited to speak with St. Louis Rams Linebacker James Laurinaitis about his experience mentoring and observing former Boston College Linebacker and potential top NFL Draft pick Mark Herzlich as he went through the extensive GSSI testing at the lab constructed in the Super Bowl XLV Media Center in Dallas and through my conversation with James I was able to get some great fitness tips as well as hear what he thought about the interest Gatorade takes in professional athletes.
