Anyone feel like putting their computer down for a minute to dance and scream?

No?

Just me?

Okay, hold on for a second-

*Whew!*  Thanks!

I am so happy and grateful to know that I am an excellent *brag* writer who shows my dedication and respect to some amazing brands who agree that I’m totally wicked super cool and awesomely rad enough to ask that I become a Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador

♪♪♪♪♪♪ YAY! ♪♪♪♪♪♪

So what does being a Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador mean?  It means that I have the honor of taking my family on a free five day cruise next week!

♪♪♪♪♪♪ YAY! ♪♪♪♪♪♪

My family (dog included) is leaving on Sunday morning to drive to Jacksonville, FL. so my boys can see their Papa.  Since my dog is mine and spoiled rotten, he’s claiming the front seat for the six hour drive and the hubs is gonna be in the middle between the booster and car seat.  We agreed we’d rather have it that way because we don’t want Tribute (65lb Lab/Chow mix) climbing all over the kids because just a whisper of “Ride in the car” has my dog running towards the garage.

Once we get to Jacksonville, we’ll spend the day with Papa and go to the beach, have a great dinner and spend the night before we head on over to the Jacksonville port to embark on a five day long cruise on the Carnival Fascination that’s taking us to Key West and Nassau! We’ll return back to Jacksonville on Friday, spend more time with Papa and head on back home to South Carolina to totally brag about it to everyone we see!

This sponsored vacation could not have come at a better time.  If you’ve been a long-time reader of my blog you understand why, but for anyone visiting for the first time, you should know that I have finally recovered from one of the absolute worst years of my life.  I had to have a complete hysterectomy and due to complications in the hospital that evening, I landed myself in a different hospital for a two week stay because I contracted “hospital acquired” triple pneumonia.

After days of medications and misery, it turned out I needed a blood transfusion to pull through.  Once I was well enough to go home and recover from the hysterectomy, the shift in my hormonal balance combined with my bipolar disorder completely picked me up and tossed me in every direction all at once.  It took a full year of doctor visits, therapy and medications to finally find myself again and I AM AWESOME!

♪♪♪♪♪♪ YAY! ♪♪♪♪♪♪

You’re awesome too.  You know that, right?  Because you love me and support me and without your comment love here, on Twitter and on Facebook, I just don’t think I could have gotten through it without you.  Since I was too depressed to go outside, it was blogging that kept me going.  I was able to stay focused on a singular task I found therapeutic and it was the support of my family and all of you that carried me through.

This year hasn’t just been hard on me.  It’s been very difficult for my family.  My children, my marriage and my entire family suffered as well and because I was unable to do the things I’m totally wicked super cool and awesomely rad at doing.  They had to do everything for me and just watch as I hid in the shell I created around myself.

It’s only been the past few weeks since I’ve smashed through that shell like a ninja and finally have found myself again.

Everyone, meet Julie.

I bounce, I laugh, I dance and I sing.  I run through sprinklers fully clothed, do yoga in the front lawn with all the neighborhood kids and dance around the grocery store as I sing along to the music they play (go shopping alone at night, it’s heavenly).

Now that I’m back what better way to celebrate the total awesomeness of me than a cruise, right?  The irony is that we were actually planning a family cruise when I was asked if I’d like to be a Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador!  My answer?

♪♪♪♪♪♪ YAY! ♪♪♪♪♪♪

So get ready for a week of fun because from this point on, I have stories to tell you about what Carnival means to me (they’re the only cruise line I’ll ever use and I’ve been on at least a dozen cruises since I worked for the airlines and flew free) and I’ll be blogging about my trip every day, showing you pictures and telling you stories that are totally wicked super cool and awesomely rad, just like we are!
