I Wish I Was Canadian – Thursday Thirteen

Canada

Yeah.  All the best things come from Canada.  I’m from Upstate NY, so it’s basically Canada, only with shitty health insurance.

Here’s a list of why I want to be Canadian -

  1. Pretty much the entire cast of cool people from the old school “Saturday Night Live” episodes are from there.  Here’s a list compliments of Wikipedia.
  2. They say “Ay” and “Aboot”
  3. Alanis Morrissette and Rush are from there.  I like the song “Tom Sawyer”, it reminds me of my friend Sarah.
  4. It’s vast.  I like big things.  I’m excessive.
  5. It’s really close to Alaska.  I had a REALLY good time in Alaska.
  6. I think “Mounties” is a funny word.
  7. Vancouver.  Two reasons – EA SPORTS and it’s like Amsterdam.
  8. They like British shit and also speak French.
  9. Phantom is better in Toronto over New York.
  10. Keely is there.
  11. They’re REALLY friggin’ nice there.
  12. I loved SCTV and Kids In The Hall.
  13. Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

Sure, there are things that make Canada suck, like Celene Dion, Canadian Bacon (A.K.A. “Ham”) and the Barenaked Ladies, but the good far outweighs the bad, making Canada one great place to try to visit from time to time.
