Random Tuesday Thoughts – He Can Call Me Shirley

Go Random. Go To The Un Mom. Right Now. Well, Read This First. Then click this. She's hawt.

I know he was in his 80′s but it’s still sad to see that Leslie Nielson died.  What’s even weirder is that I was just thinking about him.  I have a strange thing where some random person will pop in my head and then they’ll either have some major life change happen, I’ll hear from them (if it’s been years) or they die.  Usually happens within a week of them popping in my head and I never know what it’s going to be but when they’re really old and I realize I’m thinking about them I usually say “Oh, shit.”

Okay so I’ve been singing the Golden Girls theme song and I take serious issue with it.  I’ve always used it as a way to tell people I love them when I’m blogging or on Facebook but I was in the shower (slow, soapy lather for all the pervs out there – I found plenty yesterday) and I realized she said “And if you threw a party and invited everyone you knew, you would see that every gift would be from me and the card attached would say ‘Thank you for being a friend”

Dude.  What the fucking fuck?  So no one else brought me a gift?  It’s either that or Miss McPsycho changed all the tags.  I’d prefer the second one because I’d totally do something like that.

I went to the mall on Black Friday.  I had no choice.  I needed a sweater that I couldn’t find anywhere else.  It wasn’t crowded and I got a good parking space.  What I needed was in a department store and my only issue, since I had to go to three department stores to find what I wanted, was that I could tell when I was near a checkout line because it smelled like farts.  I noted this on Facebook and a good friend said “Turkey farts” which I as first found funny but then completely logical.  Every group fart smelled the same.

Here’s a taste of something adorable.  I also happened to bring my two year old with me.  I hate those leashes they have but my son is just like me – happy and outgoing.  At two years old he likes to stop and talk to every single person and taking him to a mall with his five year old brother was a teensy bit stressful so I put his cute little Eddie Bauer backpack on with some diapers in it and yes – yes it has a leash.  I pretty much just hung on to the backpack part but my little man insisted on having the leash out.  He also insisted his older brother walk him.  I didn’t get a pic of both of them because I wouldn’t let go of either of them but this is hilarious -

Whatever.  He is ADORABLE.  I make good baby.  Considering I was in a mall with two small children and needed to try somethings on, I’m super impressed.  Granted, I’ll never bring them back again but it’s just that it’s a mall and I hate malls. Perfume makes my throat hurt.

I went out last weekend and sang.  I actually did it well, too!  I recorded a song last night, “Son of a Preacher man” for the show.  I didn’t save it on my computer so you’ll have to tune into the Momspective BTR show and fast forward until about 40 minutes in.  I sing then we play “Fact or Bullshit”.  You should check it out.  Starting in December we’re going to start keeping score of who is in the char room, what they’re saying and then we’re going to have a weekly challenge and whoever is left standing at the end of the month is going to win shit.  People apparently liked my song because we had a lot of listeners.  We also had a theme song.  We like to call “Shot!” and drink some beer whenever we talk over each other, someone in the chat room types it or we have nothing else to do and when we do we have an applause going.  It’s getting to be a pretty good show.  We went off on a tangent last night and ended up talking about how we took turns being designated driver one night and drunk the other.  TRY is seriously the bestest friend I could have, except when we get on each others nerves – which happens all the time rarely.

I have to wrap this up.  I woke up late and I have to get my mini-man up and ready for school.

Does anyone remember “Cats Cradle”?  The thing we used to do with the string in school?  How about that crazy pick a number, pick a color, get your fortune origami thing we did?  If so, remind me.  Those were fun.
