Fitness Friday – I’m Being Put To The Test. The GSSI Test.

The Wii Mommies

So for the past few weeks, you may have noticed how I’ve been training to increase endurance.  I tried running outside and found my body got a better physical workout using a combination of the Wii Fit and EA SPORTS Active to get what I wanted.

I had started heavily monitoring my eating to ensure I made my holiday as miserable as possible and also made it a point to hydrate myself with Gatorade’s G2.

I have a couple things to tell you and also want to take a second to thank you.

The first being that I am FAR too vain to allow a tiny little illness and hysterectomy take over this body and slap twenty pounds on me.  The second is because I’m headed down to South Beach next week for a really cool experience.

You might have heard of (or at least seen the commercials) of athletes testing at the Gatorade science labs?  In the commercials, they have the oxygen masks on and they’re working out and people are telling me they sweat Gatorade? I think those are the ones they’re talking about but I know I’ve seen the specific athletic Gatorade commercial testing commercials, because I searched like crazy until I could before I freaked out.  (more…)

Turn The Tub Around & Win A Gift Pack From ICBINB & Momspective! – CLOSED

SO.  I don’t even know where to start.  It seems like ages ago, I was challenged to make my own “Turn The Tub Around” video, similar to the commercial made by actress Megan Mullally.  I’m always up for a challenge, so of course I couldn’t turn it down.

It wasn’t until the package arrived with the breakdown of the song, video of the signature move and details of the challenge that I panicked.  I. MEAN. PANICKED.

I am a Karaoke girl.  Some might say obsessed.  Most will, actually.  I watched this video and read these words and thought, “Yeah, I can do this!  I know the original song and think I’ve sang that while driving in the car.  Bring it!”.

I did.  I tried the best I could.  I’m the mother of two children so in order to do it in silence, I ran to my sons room and slid his crib out of the way.  His colors are navy and white so I thought it would compliment the “stage” and I put on a yellow shirt so I’d represent the brand. (more…)

Random Tuesday Thoughts – Oh, the Good Ol’ Days…

Go Random. Go To The Un Mom.

So if you read my post from the other day you’ll see that I wrote about buying my son cough meds at the drug store.  During checkout, I was asked for my date of birth.  Laughing, I asked if this happened to be one of the drugs kids abuse.  Not laughing, she replied that yes, it was.

I’m such an asshole.  My reply to her?

“Oh, whatever happened to the good old days of doing whippits and smoking pot?” and I left the store.

OOH.  She doesn’t like me.

My four year old walks in the door happily singing “Man dresses up like a lady” and a while later, while in the tub, he is laughing hysterically and said “Mom!  You know there’s a song where a guy looks like a lady?” and he can NOT stop cracking up. (more…)

Hey, When A Girl Promises Pubes, She Delivers

FYI. That body?  NOT mine.  I’m assuming that body has mine beat by a decade and that makes me both angry and sad.

I travel a lot.  Lately, it seems at least monthly.  Don’t ask me how or where, because often I don’t remember or I’m not allowed to disclose that information lol.

I also like saying that it makes me feel like I’m Jack Bauer in 24, “I’m not allowed to disclose that information, ma’am”.

I don’t watch that show, so have to real idea if that’s something he’d say or not but somewhere in all of this is a point.  Oh, yeah.   Airbrush tanning.

Not sure if any of you have noticed or not but I am a WHITE girl.  White as the snow (insert a joke about yellow snow here, dad).  White as the nearest white item in front of you.  White as, well, white.

Typically when I travel, I usually get the Mystic tanning done.  It costs about ten million dollars and takes three or four sessions so you never know how it’s going to look.  I’m certainly not going to fake n bake (and was JOKING when I tossed that option out on Facebook, sorry Susie) because it’s a) way too boring and b) FRIGGIN’ terrible on your skin, ya tard. (more…)
