Random Tuesday Thoughts – SLAP MY ASS AND CALL ME SHIRLEY, IT’S MY ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY!

randomtuesday

What better way to celebrate my very first post than to get some random under my belt.  I have to get something under there, I’m still on hiatus because the doc said I’m healing too slow.  Stupid uterus (or lack thereof).

So one full year.  The day I launched (previously Cool Mom Guide), I wrote about 7 posts because I wanted substance.  I’ll list them below.  They got like 2 comments and probably are shit compared to the awesomeness of what I write now (wink, wink) but without them, I wouldn’t be here!

I refuse to eat anything from the ocean because I don’t eat what I pee in. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)

The Time Is Nigh – Last Chance To Get’Cho Fantasy On

football boys 002

Fantasy FOOTBALL.

…Pervs.

I am SO excited right now. I created the Momspective Fantasy Football Training League on ESPN.com and tweeted it a few weeks ago but went to Syracuse and figured no one registered. I JUST got home and went to go look to invite people and found the league to be full! I’ve decided to keep creating more until every woman who wants to learn the art of the game have had the chance to register. The only catch is that it has to be done before Saturday, September 12, 2009, because the pre-season is just about over and football starts in just a few weeks!

All you have to do is head on over to ESPN.com and register. Then simply click on this link to be taken to the Momspective II Fantasy Football Training League. If I see that fill up, I’ll add and update this post as I create leagues.

What I’ll do is send out twice weekly emails to all of you who register to play. One will be for the leagues only, with easy to understand updates on players and moves you might want to consider. The other will be a link to a weekly post I’ll write on this site, just talking about the awesomeness of us and what we’re all up to, with tips on how to play and understand both fantasy football and the sport itself. I’ll also be either gloating or bitching about the Carolina Panthers.

If any of you in the leagues ever want to guest post or toss me a quote with what you’re learning and how this is changing your life and/or relationships, just click on the contact button which will shoot me an email to let me know. I’m all about the candid posts, swearing is allowed and feel free to smack talk the shit out of each other via league emails and whatnot. The true core of football and fun of fantasy football is the release of aggression and joy of making fun of the teams and players throughout the season.

For instance, Tony Romo and Tom Brady can suck my balls. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)

Fitness Friday – Finding Mii

fitness-friday-button-new

Well this has been quite the exciting summer for this Wii Mommy!

It all started when I went to visit Jenn in Kansas.  I get home and the next thing I know, I’m being pulled into a physical and emotional journey that would last months!

I am just now getting back to who I really am.  I used Nintendo’s Personal Trainer: Walking to motivate myself to get off my feet and take the steps I needed to get back to my optimal health as quick as possible and I’ve been cleared to start the Wii Fit again when I return home from my trip to NY.

I was most excited to  start up with the Hula Hoop, but my husband was quick to point out that doing abdominal exercises following major abdominal surgery might not be the wisest decision I’ve ever made.  He instead suggests I opt toward the Yoga and Balance games, since everyone knows my balance can use a little work. I Got Diamond Earrings From A Random Waitress In Mexico

cancun

That’s me, screaming, with my very colorful “Mexico Skirt” that I bought in Cancun that night for that trip to that tiny, random unknown bar that tourists don’t go to.  As you can see in the background , we’re the only non-Mexicans in the bar and WE LIKED IT.

Ryan and I planned this trip with some friends (who shall remain nameless) because we wanted to.  Ha.  I don’t know how else to say that.  We flew to Cancun where we had a friend and stayed at his place.  He took us to the best non-tourisy places and I realized I don’t know how to pack and I had to buy that skirt. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)
