Fitness Friday – Thought I Lost My PTW. Whew!

fitness-friday-button-new

Okay, that’s it.  I’m addicted.  Never, not once in my life, would I think of myself as a fitness person.  Not once.  As a kid, I was just super skinny and in high school I called myself fat because it was what all the girls did but looking back I want to slap myself because I was HAWT.

I think that’s the reason I ended up gaining weight with my kids.  I always just assumed I’d be thin and stay that way without trying.  I was obviously wrong.

Since having my children, everyone knows I stay fit with the Wii.  Since having my operation, I’ve found I can also maintain my health and fitness using Nintendo’s Personal Trainer: Walking for the DS and DSi.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been challenging my dog, Tribute to a #PTwalking (to follow on Twitter) challenge.  Holy trending, Batman!  Just me talking about this challenge has opened up so many people to this awesome product!  Not only have the Wii Mommies started tracking their progress, but my husband and his best buddy are OBSESSED with it!  They get together every morning at work to track their stats together and while I’m using it for my recovery, Jenn is walking to maintain her health during pregnancy! Flightmare

Okay, so I’m sitting in my room at the Ocean Isle Inn but I can’t slap my hot pink bikini on until I tell everyone about my “flightmare” yesterday.  As my good friend Jenna McCarthy said to me on Facebook yesterday, I just have to share my “perturbulance” with all of you.

I left Syracuse, NY yesterday to return home (for about 17 hours) to Fort Mill, SC.  I flew alone with my two kids, ages 4 & 1 from Syracuse through Newark to Charlotte.  Flying is nothing new to me or my children.  I actually wrote a post weeks back about how to fly with your kids and everything would have gone smoothly had it not been for one incident – unexpected poo.

We woke up at 7:00 yesterday morning and headed to the Syracuse airport.  Tears were shed as we said goodbye to my parents but everything else was great.  Security was smooth and the flight from Syracuse to Newark flew (he he) right by.  Josh slept and Jake sat snacking and chatting away.

We get to Newark and our next gate is about 15 feet away.  Smooth as silk, I tell ya.  I’m thinking to myself, “Yeah.  This is why I wrote that post about flying with your kids.  I’ve got this down to a science.”

BAHAHAHAHA. (more…)

RTT-Whiskey, Tightrope Walking and Red Curtains

randomtuesday

My mind is still reeling from Chi-town.  I seriously feel like I have no mental capacity left.  I also realized that all of my random thoughts end up on Twitter, which makes Tuesday’s a little tough for me, but shit, I always have SOMETHING to say.

I have no problem making fun of myself for talking to much but can’t stand it when someone agrees with me about it.

Sarah, how’s about you whip me up an Oreo pie (with Chocolate crust) for Tuesday?  Huh?  You wanna?  We can sit at my kitchen table and eat the whole thing together then blog about how we shouldn’t have done that for Fitness Friday. (more…)

Fare Thee Well, Blogher…Thanks for Memories (or lack thereof)

dave

Alright.  I know my demographic.  I know that reason people  read my shit is because you genuinely enjoy it (and thank you).  With that assumption, I’m gonna go ahead and tell you now BLOGHER RAWKS.

Everyone does something different at Blogher.  Some wake up early to attend session after session, claiming both knowledge and swag.  Some wandered the Expo center and talked to the various PR reps representing brands and made connections (and got swag).

And some stayed up til two each morning, slept in til noon ten and simply did all their networking over evening cocktails.  Okay, maybe I was the only one with that strategy but screw it.  That’s what works for me.

I met and loved up on some of the most amazing people of my life.  Not just the beautiful bloggers but the product reps kicked ass.  The folks from Tide not only smell great but I truly enjoyed the three hours I sat in your lounge being mistaken for one of your employees.

My brain is still fried from all the drinking socializing I did during my  five day stay and I’m super sad that all of you couldn’t make it.  You’d have loved it, I hear I was very funny. (more…)
