Vicks Soothing Vapors Plug-In Waterless Vaporizer

Ugh.  I’m sick.  I’m SO stinkin’ sick.  I’ve been in bed for three days.  I didn’t get to enjoy Thanksgiving because my nose is stuffed, my throat is raw and I’m on FIRE.  So now it’s Saturday.  Ryan took the kids to his mothers and I’m in bed.

I am the most cliche sick person right now.  I’m lying down with the laptop on me and water by my side.  On my nightstand there’s about 3000 tissues, a bag of cough drops and some Vapo Rub.  I’ve also slapped a dollop of it on my chest and I’m attempting to breathe in the menthol love.

Thank goodness for the maker’s of Vicks products.  I was recently given the opportunity to test out some of them and they couldn’t have come at a better time. One of the items I have received is the  Vicks Soothing Vapors Plug-In Waterless Vaporizer. (It gets better. Click to continue reading…)

What He Has to Say About the Holidays

By J. Burrows (again-NOT Julie’s hubby, Julie’s co-writer & friend)

It has been a long time since I have written because I got promoted at work. It is kinda good because I get a little more money and a lot more responsibility. It’s bad because I do not have time to write for an hour while at work or while home. So, I hope that people got some things accomplished over Thanksgiving. I have been on and off again sick for 3 weeks, and while taking the dog on one of our (usually) daily cold weather walks, or while leaving the YMCA, soaking in sweat, I can not figure out why. But, the dog has to walk, and I can’t be fat, so sickness is a small price to pay.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Ours was okay. I have never seen 3 more boring football games in a row. Never. Now I suppose the shopping season is upon us. Who cares? Buying things that are not needed for people we like or not in the name of a religious idol is the problem with our economy, not the solution. If someone we care about needs something, and we are in a better position than them to purchase it, or just want to do it to be nice, that is great; To do it out of this false Jesus’ birthday celebration angle is an absolute crock. I, however have a non-voting role in our family democracy, so I am sure that our little one will have all sorts of toys and things to go along with his children’s bible and Noah’s Ark. I Have No Shame

And I can admit that.  Really.  I’m admitting it now.

See, here’s the thing.  A super wicked long time ago, I was nominated for an Award at Divine Caroline.  For a while there, I was actually winning.  That felt good.  Anywho, months have passed and now I’m about 50 votes behind first place.

Normally, I’d give up and accept defeat but since I have two days until the contest is over, I thought I’d toss out one final plea and ask that you go register and cast your vote for me.  Shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes and I’ll win $250 smackeroos.

Yep.  $250.  What can I do with $250….

Well, I can buy 1 plane ticket to Blogher (wink wink).

I can pay my car payment.

I can purchase 250 items at the dollar store on a tax free weekend.

I can feel less guilty about all the time I spend online.

I was thinking about other things I could do with the money and my giant lab/chow mix ripped a giant man fart and now I can’t think clearly.  I bet I can get his anal glands removed for $250.  I’ll have to look into it.

So, once again, please vote for me.  PUH-LEASE.  Pretty please.  I’ll repay the favor.  I’ll vote, blog, comment or twitter when you need it.  I always have and I always will.  No pressure or anything.  Thanks.

DAY TWELVE QUESTION

I’m Thankful this Year because….

Okay, brace yourselves folks.  I am thankful for A LOT this year.  It’s been a HUGE year for me so it’s gonna be a long list. I’ve already gone over this three times to trim it down a bit, so bear with me here.

First and foremost, I’m thankful to my friend Rob for encouraging me to start this in the first place.  He saw something in me I didn’t think I had, and there is no limit to the love and gratitude I have for him.  To modern technology for providing me with the Internet and cell phones to expand my social base.  I’m also thankful to Nintendo for making the Wii Fit because without it I’d still be fat.  (It gets better.
