My 16 Week Challenge

I have been challenged to start an all female fantasy football league. Its for women who love and women who hate football. It’s a fun and easy thing to do. Once the ladies I have invited (max 10) have joined, I’ll have an automatic draft using the default draft settings yahoo provides. We’ll all be assigned players to the team we created and each week will play one another, straight through the fantasy playoffs. I’ve also started a Yahoo Group, I’m trying to attract the attention of the Panther PR guy to then encourage them to have a “mom blog party” in one of the sky boxes of the Panthers. We can also occasional meet for a game at a local Sports Bar or have a play date at my house so the kids can get together.

The league winner will be given a gift certificate of $30 to the restaurant or grocery store of their choice by me. My goal is to have fun and learn more about the sport. Yahoo does not have a way for me to import the league here, so look for my weekly blog updates, filling you in on the leaders and our progress. I will be welcoming the views of the sport and this league as the season progresses from all of you, not just league members. I would love to hear and publish (with your permission) how this blog has impacted your views on the sport, if at all.

I will be taking this one step further and creating a Cool Moms Like Football group as well. Any female can join-mom or no-through this link, Cool Moms Like Football Club at Yahoo Groups. I’m trying to attract the attention of the Panther PR guy to then encourage them to have a “mom blog party” in one of the sky boxes of the Panthers. We can also occasional meet for a game at a local Sports Bar or have a play date at my house so the kids can get together.

I don’t know what will become of this. I just know that I was a hater of this sport and I gave it a chance. So often I talk to other mothers who ask me how I did it. Weekends have been stripped from us as our husbands zone out to cheer for their favorite teams. By learning and involving ourselves, we’re opening ourselves up to new experiences and a way to make those Autumn weekends a family experience to cherish.

Love to see that you have Donnie on your site even though Delhomme is your man.

I was going to comment on the McNabb picture as well. He’s my favorite QB in the league!!!

Hi there. Did you have this league. Check out FamilyFantasySports.com… more than 30% of our users are women. In fact, meet Kristin, we just named her best mom fantasy football player in America. She went 13-1 during 2008 in our free leagues.

    Hi,
Is it to late to join the League, I would really love to join.
I have just experienced my 1st weekend of being shushed & shushed time & time again, and I need to really really understand what men love football, and as of now I despise football, but I know I can’t, cause he loves it so much! LOL
